International Health Insurance for Malta Investment Migration Applicants
Malta has one of the furthest developed and most popular Investment Migration programs around the globe. The program allows high-net-worth individuals and families to obtain residence in Malta, which can lead to citizenship. As an EU country, the Maltese passport offers the right of establishment in all countries within the European Union.
To be admitted into the investment migration program of Malta, every applicant is obliged to hold private international health insurance. Not all health insurance companies and policies are approved and accepted by the regulator and it is necessary that the insurance company can issue the insurance documentation in the required format. Since the origin of the Malta Individual Investor Programme, Swiss Insurance Partners has successfully accompanied hundreds of applicants with the appropriate international health insurance.

Malta Citizenship by Investment
With more than 1’500 successful applications that led to Maltese citizenship, Malta is one of the most popular countries to apply for residence or citizenship by investment. Malta has proven to be a state-of-the-art example in the Investment Migration industry. Partly due to its extremely strict due diligence and vetting procedure to strictly control who will be able to become a Maltese resident, and later, a citizen through naturalization. After the initially launched programme called Malta Individual Investor Programme (MIIP) had reached the maximum capacity for migrants in summer 2020, the immigration program was reviewed and renewed.
In November 2020, the new investment migration program was launched. Administered by Community Malta the new investment program was launched under the name “Maltese Citizenship by Naturalization for Exceptional Services by Direct Investment”, in short also called the MEIN program.
MEIN applicants are required to hold valid health insurance during the process of obtaining residence and citizenship, but also infinitely after having obtained the Malta passport. Many private investors take the opportunity to review their own and their family’s health coverage in full. Since acquiring a second residence or citizenship has a large influence on investor’s global mobility and freedom of travel, it is essential to adapt to adequate health insurance. Preferrably, an international private medical insurance should cover global citizens worldwide (including USA) and with an unlimited health insurance policy limit.
Other Supported Investment Migration Programs
Apart from Malta, many other countries offer investment immigration programs with similar health insurance requirements. All of them have one thing in common: The applicants are truly Global Citizens, living a global lifestyle that requires appropriate international health protection and flexibility. The below are just some of the investment migration programs for which Swiss Insurance Partners has developed adequate International Health Insurance solutions to support private investors and immigration lawyers in the process of obtaining residency or citizenship.
